Wednesday 2 August, 4pm–5pm.

Healthy waterways are a vital part of enhancing the liveability of Greater Sydney. They add value to our urban spaces, support the cultural and recreational needs of our people, and provide essential habitats for wildlife.

Join us when we explore three innovative projects:

  • Jordan Mulhearn (Senior Project Manager at Sydney Water) will discuss the award winning Johnstons Creek naturalisation project, and explore the opportunities and challenges of naturalising an old concrete-lined channel to improve amenity and habitat outcomes.
  • Erin Saunders (Strategic Urban Planner at Sydney Water) will discuss optimising streetscape design to protect waterway health to deliver greener and cooler urban places, including how this is being applied across western Sydney.
  • Emma James (Segment Lead – Recycled Water at Sydney Water) will showcase her exciting project using macroalgae to reduce nutrient load in wastewater and discuss the potential future applications of this technology.
