The   Guidelines for Erosion and Sediment Control on Building Sites help small-scale builders, certifiers, stormwater specialists and anyone working on construction sites that are less than 2,500m2 understand how to prevent erosion and sediment pollution to protect our waterways.

DPHIE are running an information seesion, with presentations from:

  • The Building Commission of NSW on its role in the erosion and sediment control space on construction sites in NSW
  • The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development Fisheries and Forestry (DPIRD Fisheries), on the Marine Estate Management Strategy (MEMS) Fish Friendly Workshops program. Under this program DPIRD Fisheries holds workshops to help councils look at ways to manage and build structures, and undertake works in and around waterways that are friendly for fish and protect water quality
  • Local Land Services (LLS) on their suite of MEMS projects, working with landholders in the South East, North Coast and Hunter regions of NSW to reduce erosion and other diffuse source pollutants entering waterways.
