I joined Stormwater NSW (previously named the Stormwater Industry Association, NSW) in 2003 and have served as the Stormwater NSW Treasurer since 2007.
In 2012 I received the Stormwater Industry Association National President’s Award.
In August 2020 I was humbled to be made a Life Member of Stormwater NSW.
I am currently a Global Senior Principal of Cardno who for more than 21 years served as a Director of a number of Cardno subsidiary companies.

I have worked for more than 35 years at Cardno managing and undertaking a wide range of hydro-environmental assessments, catchment management studies, flood studies, floodplain management studies, flood mitigation and stormwater quality investigations for Government and Industry clients. This has included a wide range of projects in all states of Australia as well as in Singapore and Malaysia.
I am also a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, the Institution of Engineers, Australia; the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the ASCE Environment and Water Resources Institute. I am a member of the International Association of Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research and ASCE Coasts, Oceans, Ports and Rivers Institute and an Associate Member of the Australian National Committee on Large Dams.
I have also been the Project Manager, Team Leader or Senior Engineer on 32 projects that have received 41 Divisional and/or National engineering excellence awards from the Stormwater Australia, Stormwater NSW, Engineers Australia, Consult Australia and from other prestigious organizations since 1987.
I am an author or co-author of more than 200 papers published in international and Australian conference proceedings and journals on sustainable development, integrated catchment management, flooding and floodplain management and hydrology.
I have served on the Engineers Australia National Committee on Water Engineering since 1988 and was its chair from 1994-1997. I was also the Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Journal of Water Resources published by Engineers Australia from 1998-2004 and 2008-July 2015.
I also serve as an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Region 10 Immediate Past Director and also served on the ASCE Board of Direction (2016-2019) and the ASCE Board Executive Committee (2018-2019). ASCE Region 10 covers 174 countries outside of North America in which ASCE members reside.
When not working or serving on committees, I greatly enjoy visiting and exploring overseas countries. One of my most memorable trips in recent years included visiting Bogota (in Columbia), Lima (in Peru), Quito and Guayaquil as well as the southern and central Galapagos Islands (in Ecuador).
