This workshop will be presented by Craig Bush\, Dr Andrew Thomas\, Craig Naughton\, Neil Keraunos & Alexa McAuley.
\nWhat you gain from this Workshop:
\n< p>To ensure stormwater management projects\, programs and assets achieve t heir desired goals a sustainable source of funding is required throughout the whole lifecycle. Current funding models\, especially the Stormwater se rvice charge\, are not a sustainable option due to significant increases i n costs relating to waste disposal\, wages\, and inflation (construction c osts in particular) and no mechanism for review. However\, due to the effe cts of urban expansion and climate change impacts\, the need for well-desi gned and properly maintained stormwater management systems is only becomin g more critical.\nThis forum will provide information as to how Cou ncils are resourcing stormwater management in different ways and to discus s the benefits and or limitations of each option. Come to hear from repres entatives from Ku-ring-ai\, Canterbury Bankstown\, Blacktown\, and Hornsby \, and industry experts in this field. After the presentation\, there will be an open forum for discussion regarding the options and opportunities t o ask questions to the presenters and others.

Traditionally\, creating a WSUD report re quires Consultants and Councils to spend large amounts of time scouring gu idelines for obscure parameters and files\, manually entering values in di fficult-to-use software\, and convoluted optimisation and reporting proces ses. This leads to submissions that are rife with errors\, difficult to ve rify\, and consume precious Council resources to assess\, potentially cont ributing to suboptimal outcomes when WSUD assets are delivered.\nThis work shop will bring participants together to identify challenges faced by stak eholders in the WSUD assessment and reporting process. The workshop will p rovide a hands-on experience in using and developing digital automation to ols to generate and assess typical WSUD reports as part of the DA process. Challenges in the current process can i ncur time and resource costs to both councils and consultants\, with sub-o ptimal results. Traditionally\, creating a WSUD report requires Consultant s and Councils to spend large amounts of time scouring guidelines for obsc ure parameters and files\, manually entering values in difficult-to-use so ftware\, and convoluted optimisation and reporting processes. This leads t o submissions that are rife with errors\, difficult to verify\, and consum e precious Council resources to assess\, potentially contributing to subop timal outcomes when WSUD assets are delivered.
\nThis wor kshop will bring participants together to identify challenges faced by sta keholders in the WSUD assessment and reporting process. The workshop will provide a hands-on experience in using and developing digital automation t ools to generate and assess typical WSUD reports as part of the DA process . Participants are then given the opportunity to discuss their experience regarding their processes\, typical challenges\, and identified improvemen ts. This Workshop aims to provide participants with learnings and examples on how they can develop and implement their own internal processes to str eamline WSUD assessments and reporting.
